e-file from an iPad using Microsoft Word® and Safari

01 e-file from iPad

Here’s a quick write-up and slideshow I created for a friend who wanted to use her iPad to e-file in Indiana. This tip should work for an iPhone as well (though I haven’t tried it…yet).

Apps required:

  1. Microsoft Word® for iPad (or iPhone)
  2. Safari

Instructions for e-Filing from your iPad

  1. Install Word for iPad if you don’t have it already.

  2. Create your Word Document. When you are ready to file the document, follow the remaining steps.

  3. Tap on icon shown in Slide 01.

  1. Choose where you want to save the file (Dropbox) (Slide 04). The first time you set this up, you will need to login to your Dropbox account by clicking “Add a Place” and filling out your username and password for Dropbox. I recommend creating a Electronic Filing folder or something to that effect.

  1. Wait while Word does its thing.

  2. Open the e-File and Serve website and file as normal, using the Dropbox connection to upload your files. (You can visit this link to sign up for Dropbox and then convert to Dropbox for business when you are ready)

  3. Contact me with any questions. 🙂
